As far as auction sites go, e-bay is one of the best. I have bought several items successfully at a bargain. As with all auction sites, the only problem is that the items are left too long on the site. This means that anyone that has the money can get the most items.
Those of us that are genuinely looking to buy cheap goods ending scrapping for the left overs.
You'll be surprised how easily you get out bid on a lot of the items.
You can get updates via your mobile, but i don't really bother as you are better just setting your stall out on a certain price. If you get it for that fine, if not there is always bound to be another item similar, that will come on.
Of course make sure that you check on any person that you are buying from, usually the user profiles have comments from people that have successfully traded with them.
